BEEF CONSOMME RICE

Ingredients:


  • 1 (10.5 oz) can beef consommé

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp dried thyme

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice

  • ½ cup fresh mushrooms, sliced (or 1 (4 oz) can of sliced mushrooms)

  • 1 stick (½ cup) salted butter, sliced


Instructions:


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a 9×9 inch baking dish, combine the beef consommé, French onion soup, garlic powder, thyme, and rice. Mix well to ensure the rice is evenly distributed.

  3. Add mushrooms, pressing them gently to soak up some of the liquid. Place the butter slices on top without mixing.

  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the rice is tender. Start checking after 10 minutes to avoid overcooking.
