Ingredients:


CROCKPOT FRENCH DIP SANDWICHES
  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast

  • 2 (10.5 oz) cans condensed French Onion Soup

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can Beef Consommé

  • 8 sandwich rolls

  • 8 slices provolone cheese

  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar (or dry red wine)

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • ¼ teaspoon Kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions:

  1. Place the beef chuck roast in a crockpot. Pour the French Onion Soup and Beef Consommé over the roast.

  2. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours (or high for 4 hours) until the beef easily shreds with a fork.

  3. Remove 3 cups of the cooking liquid and transfer to a saucepan. Add red wine vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook until reduced by half, about 10–15 minutes.

  4. Transfer the beef to a shallow dish and shred with a fork.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the sandwich rolls on a baking sheet. Fill each roll with shredded beef and top with a slice of provolone cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

  6. Serve sandwiches immediately with the reduced au jus on the side for dipping.
