Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil, divided

  • 4 (6-oz.) salmon fillets, patted dry

  • Kosher salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 lemon, sliced into rounds


Instructions:

1️⃣ Prep the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and season the flesh side with salt and pepper.

2️⃣ Make the Glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes.

3️⃣ Sear the Salmon: Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When hot but not smoking, place the salmon fillets skin-side up in the pan. Season the skin side with salt and pepper. Sear for 5 minutes, then carefully flip so the skin side is down. Add the remaining 1 tbsp of olive oil and cook for another 5 minutes.

4️⃣ Add the Flavor: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, just until fragrant (be careful not to burn it!).

5️⃣ Glaze & Reduce: Pour in the honey mixture and add all but 4 of the lemon slices to the pan. Let the sauce simmer and reduce for about 2-3 minutes, basting the salmon with the glaze as it thickens.

6️⃣ Serve & Garnish: Remove from heat, garnish with the remaining fresh lemon slices, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
